Building a Difference just had the first official premiere showing of the Volume 2: The Goodall Family Story on Tuesday, April 10th. Exec. Producer/Director Mick Richards made the hour presentation to a room filled with members of the Northeast Florida Builders Association, Builders Care and members of local media.
“It was very encouraging to see so many emotions, ranging from laughter to tears, from those who watched this special preview,” said Richards. “This is a rich story that’s been unfolding for years, and we’re all very excited to bring this long awaited project near the finish line.”
What was originally slated as a 2-hour documentary, The Goodall Family Story is now a 12-part volume. It introduces the Goodall family who struggled through the hardships of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and Leukemia. Builders Care had to help this family of eight living in a 3-bedroon home built in the 40’s by doubling the size of their home. “This is a special project that’s been put together from over 250 hours of raw footage of a story that started unfolding four years ago. When you add another 50 hours of Goodall home videos and thousands of pictures to go through to help tell this story, you can imagine the work that has gone into bringing the world this amazing story.”
Volume 2: The Goodall Family Story is slated to be completed early summer with a major premiere event in Jacksonville, Florida. The premiere event will be open to the public! Please check back soon for updated event information.
