Children in need receive care from leaders at the Sonshine Center in Iloilo, Philippians, in the “Beyond Your Borders” film series preview.
Building a Difference premiered a sneak peak into the overseas missions film series “Beyond Your Borders” at the 40th Anniversary Gala of Go To Nations, a missions partner featured in the series.
The preview was created to reflect the “Wildfires to Movements” Campaign for Go To Nations that will promote the companion book by the same title chronicling the 40-plus years of history to missions organization. The book divides the history into three eras – the pioneer, builder and advancer generations.
“What started with one couple’s radical obedience in 1981, has resulted today in over 2,400 sent-ones,” Dr. Jerry Williamson, President of Go To Nations explains in the preview, “who are devoting their lives to accomplish God’s one mission in the earth.”

The film series itself has been years in the making, as Building a Difference has been studying overseas missions movements through the experiences of Go To Nations, an overseas missions agency, and GloDev (Global Development) that focuses on creative sustainable development. The areas featured in the series range from Honduras, Peru, East and West Africa, India, Thailand and the Philippians.
“The flow of the series follows a similar pattern as the Go To Nations history book, Wildfires to Movements,” explains Mick Richards, Executive Producer/Director. “Corresponding to the three generations outlined in the book, the film series will expand specific themes: Building a Mission, Building a Missionary and Building a Movement.”
Building a Difference began its filming journey with Go To Nations and GloDev in 2013.
“We have been studying creative missions movements and community transformation strategies for almost a decade through the partnership with Go To Nations And GloDev,” explains Richards. “For me, it has always been about trying to unlock the mysteries and the beauty of why people would sacrifice five their lives to help others in desperate need…and the extraordinary transformation that can rebuild communities and change individual destinies. We believe this series will be a powerful mobilization tool as an onramp for more creative missions movements impacting generations to come.”
