Building a Difference just made a major announcement at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention in Nashville, TN at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center – the Beyond Your Borders multi-series focusing on missions! Building a Difference: Beyond Your Borders will feature Go To Nations and GloDev among many missions organizations, and will be a powerful, comprehensive multi-volume series discovering the heart of world missions. It will be featured in future volumes of the TV series which airs on over 25 non-profits networks worldwide.
Building a Difference was one of among hundreds of exhibitors and was well received by everyone at the NRB “Proclaim 16”, this year’s four-day NRB International Christian Media Convention. The NRB is always a reunion of broadcast media family and friends,” expresses Mick Richards, Exec. Prod/Director, “but this time it was at an entirely different level. In past years I’ve always been involved as an attendee connecting with some of ‘God’s greats’ in Christian media ministry. This year Building a Difference was showcasing alongside them, and it was a real honor that I took very personally.”
The media display was designed for a 10′ x 20′ space and showcased the Beyond your Borders series and exclusive video preview. Four additional video kiosks were designed that featured a sample episode from four of the many regions where Go To Nations missionaries serve – Honduras, Burkina Faso, Thailand, and the Philippines. All five video stations came equipped with headphones and volume control where viewers could be taken on missionary journeys.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet Mick Richards and hear from his heart the vision of Building a Difference as a worldwide media ministry. They also had the opportunity to learn all about featured charity Go To Nations from Jeremy Henderson, GTN VP of Communications and Mobilization. Dianne Rigby, Partnership Coordinator for the series shared opportunities for Building a Difference partnership and passed out thumb drives with video previews, brochures, and Goodall Family Story magazines. “Uncle Dave” Vartanian is of course “everybody’s uncle” and loved by everyone he meets, so he basically ran around and did “his Uncle Dave thing” the entire time!
To make it even more special, the Page-Bailie family featured in Volume 1 were our special guests! Foster mother Melisa Page-Bailie brought her four youngest children (Timothy, Lacie, Jordan, and Gabriel) to volunteer and serve as “media missionaries,” and they brought smiles to attendees faces as they were recognized from their inspirational foster story episodes. Melisa and those kids are champions!
